Our Commitment

Health & Standards

We believe every Entlebucher deserves the best possible start in life. That means rigorous health testing, adherence to breed standards, and complete transparency with every family we work with.

Our Health Testing Protocol

Before any dog enters our breeding program, they must pass a comprehensive battery of health evaluations. We follow the recommendations of the National Entlebucher Mountain Dog Association (NEMDA) and the Orthopedic Foundation for Animals (OFA).

Breed Standards We Follow

The Entlebucher Mountain Dog is the smallest of the four Swiss Sennenhund breeds. We breed to the AKC and FCI breed standards, prioritizing correct structure, temperament, and working ability.

Size

Males 17–21 inches at the withers; females slightly smaller. Compact and muscular, never coarse.

Coat

Short, close-fitting, harsh topcoat with dense undercoat. Tricolor: black base with rich tan and white markings in a precise pattern.

Temperament

Self-confident, lively, and devoted. Entlebuchers are loyal to their family, alert, and highly trainable — but require an experienced, active owner.

Working Ability

Originally bred to drive cattle, the Entlebucher has strong herding instincts, high energy, and an intense desire to work. Mental stimulation is essential.

What to Expect from Us

Full Transparency

We share all health test results openly. Every puppy's parents have documented OFA and DNA results available for review before you commit.

Health Guarantee

All puppies come with a written health guarantee covering hereditary conditions. We stand behind every dog we produce.

AKC Registration

Every puppy is AKC registered with full registration available to approved homes. We do not sell on limited registration to hide health concerns.

Lifetime Breeder Support

We are your resource for life — from puppy questions at 8 weeks to senior dog care at 12 years. We never stop being your breeder.

Return Policy

If for any reason you cannot keep your dog, we require them to come back to us. No QH Entlebucher will ever end up in a shelter.

Puppy Socialization

Every litter is raised using Early Neurological Stimulation (ENS) and Puppy Culture protocols, giving each puppy the best possible foundation.
